Born in 2007 in Vancouver, Canada, to a Scottish-Canadian father and Japanese mother, Koyu is bilingual in both Japanese and English. He enjoys playing soccer and drums and when not in school loves going to Japan. Koyu can be heard voicing the character of Atari in Wes Anderson's stop-motion animation film,"Isle of Dogs", which is Koyu's first role in a film. He's since acted in a local short film and appeared in a music video."Isle of Dogs" is slated for release on 23 March in the US, 29 March in Australia, and 30 March 2018 in the UK.　　Koyu2007年生於加拿大温哥华，他的父亲是苏格兰裔加拿大人，母亲是日本人，因此他会说日语和英语。Koyu喜欢踢足球、打鼓，放假期间住在日本。　　Koyu出演过一些短片，在音乐视频中也有过客串，他的第一次电影出演经历是在2018年的热门影片《犬之岛》中为Atari一角配音。
